USA & Mexico

We finally got to fit in a trip to the USA, it was long overdue.  Fiji Airways was our airline of choice to the USA, we flew into San Francisco, which was a great way to start our holiday.  Lots of sightseeing and eating out, and a trip to San Fran would not be complete without a trip to Alcatraz.  From San Fran we hired a car and drove down to Las Vegas, would you believe spending a night in Kettle town on the way down (funny).  You guessed it while in Vegas you need to go to Fremont Street, and I can tell you first hand that this was a super eye opener for our teenagers (especially Ruben).  The Grand Canyon did not disappoint with a lovely fresh day with blue skies, it certainly is one of the wonders of the world.  From Las Vegas we flew to Long Beach California and joined our cruise on the Norwegian Bliss to the Mexican Riviera.  For me the cruise was the holiday in our trip, it gave me 7 days of not thinking about where we were going to eat and what we were going to do, fabulous.  After the cruise we had time at Venice Beach, where we did a bit of biking, visited Universal Studios (front of line is a must have) and shopped for the last-minute items (we have some cool tips on where to shop too!).  Because we were flying back through Fiji, we had 3 nights where we could rest and re-cooperate and get over some jet lag, which was the best thing ever.
